THE APRIL WRITE 2012 – POETS OLYMPIAD – DAY 20 – FREAKY FRIDAY # 2

Posted on

Welcome to Day 20 of the 2012 April Write – the Poets Jubilee Olympiad.

Today is our 2nd Freaky Friday with a hint of erotica to get you hot & steamy.

This week, I read an article in the newspaper about a young woman who looks and acts like a living porcelain doll – so petite & perfect you’d have to look twice to check if she was really alive, which made me remember a film and the documentary which followed straight after it and I realised that some people have the strangest tastes.

But let’s get it on with our 2nd “FREAKY FRIDAY” erotic extravaganza.

Watch the video below to hear my poem for today and you’ll understand what I mean!

Your topic and title for Day 20 is: “FETISHES”, what turns you on?

THE APRIL WRITE 2012 – POETS OLYMPIAD – DAY 14 – 5 MINUTES ALONE

Posted on

Welcome to Day 14 of the 2012 April Write – the Poets Jubilee Olympiad.

Today’s subject comes courtesy of one of our AWC Ambassadors, Charity Katotobwe.

She asked: “What you think of when you are sat still for a few minutes?”

And that’s exactly what I did in order to create my write for today.

So, I’d like you to find a quiet space (if you can) and write down whatever comes to your mind.

If you watch the video, I will time this for you, followed by my poem.

Your topic and theme for Day 14 is: ” 5 Minutes Alone”

Watch & Enjoy your thoughts unravelling!

However it turns out and what ever you end up writing about…

Day 11 of the April Write is about YOU using YOUR Word Power to create!

Posted on

Welcome to Day 8 of the 2012 April Write – the Poets Jubilee Olympiad.

Today is a VERY special day. It’s a Free Verse day! Which means you are allowed to write a poem on whatever topic you feel a burning desire, need or inspiration to.

You may also continue on the same theme that another person has shared for today if you’d like to.

I hope you will have fun and really let loose with your creativity and share those poems you have been holding back so far this month.

But remember, no erotic poetry please, because we have a day reserved just for that, coming up soon!

Please watch the video and hear my piece called ‘My Little African Soul’

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3Vo4YEuJV0

Day 8 of the April Write is a Free Verse Day, with no set topic to hold you back, post on this or any other theme you like.

THE APRIL WRITE 2012 – POETS OLYMPIAD – DAY 7 – READING

Posted on

Welcome to Day 7 of the 2012 April Write – the Poets Jubilee Olympiad.

Some of you may have found our Day 6 topic on injustice and racism, hard to write on or it’s taking longer than you thought to complete. You might have chosen not to share what you had penned, or found yourself hard pressed for time.

I understand that you will get too busy sometimes, so you can always catch up on days that you have missed at any time during the month of April.

Your title and topic for Day 7 of the April Write is “READING”

Please watch the video below.

(As you should be doing every day…)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3LUgzaAs-k

Then come back to the group and share with us why you read or why you might encourage others to do so.
